MCT stands for Medium Chain Triglycerides. MCT Oil is derived from coconut oil and is more easily digested by the body than other fat molecules. Medium chain triglycerides are also a direct energy source for the body. In this sense, they mimic the function of a carbohydrate. The body can use MCT's for a number of purposes. These include being used for fat burning and for the production of adenosine triphosphate (stored muscle energy), which can be very helpful when following a very low calorie diet. Consumption of medium chain triglycerides has been shown to encourage caloric thermogenesis (body heat and calorie burning). What is Alli, and what are the benifits?

There are a number of different products on the market today that offer the same ingredient found in the latest diet pill named Alli. The question is, what does Alli (orlistat) do? Orlistat works by inhibiting an enzyme that breaks down triglycerides in the intestine. Without this enzyme, fats from the diet are prevented from being absorbed into fatty tissues and are excreted undigested. Only trace amounts of orlistat are absorbed systemically.
